How to count dog years
- Research the dog's breed, as size and breed type influence the aging process. Smaller dogs age slower, while larger breeds tend to age faster.
- Choose your dog's size category (small, medium, large) to estimate how their age compares in "human years."
- Enter the dog's actual age in years.
- The result will tell you your dog's age in "human years," factoring in their breed and size for a more accurate estimate. Usually, the first year equals 15 human years, the second equals 9, and every year after is about 4-5 human years.
