How to count dog years

  1. Research the dog's breed, as size and breed type influence the aging process. Smaller dogs age slower, while larger breeds tend to age faster.
  2. Choose your dog's size category (small, medium, large) to estimate how their age compares in "human years."
  3. Enter the dog's actual age in years.
  4. The result will tell you your dog's age in "human years," factoring in their breed and size for a more accurate estimate. Usually, the first year equals 15 human years, the second equals 9, and every year after is about 4-5 human years.
